Prop 300. Arizona Continues to Kick Ass

@ 02:53 PM (18 months, 19 days ago)

I'm so glad there is, at least, one state whose people have the ability to let their voices be heard.

From what I've read, the propositions denying benefits, etc.. to illegal aliens are expected to pass. No doubt, Napolitano will, again, try to water them down. With a little luck she won't be around much longer. Sadly, the polls I've seen showed that she still leads her anti-illegal opponent by a large margin.

I'm very glad that Georgia passed a bill that targets illegals. It didn't go nearly far enough but it was a good start and will be getting phased in over time. One aspect that I really liked was a requirement to check the immigration status of every person arrested for DUI or a felony. My question: "Why not everybody arrested? Why limit it?"

Anyway, one of the measures left up to the voters is denying instate tuition breaks for illegals to go to college. They can still go, which I oppose, but they would have to pay the higher out of state rates. Too damned bad. And the crying and whining about this is typical. "Oh, you're making the children suffer for the wrongs of their parents. That's not fair. You're taking away their dreams. Waaaaaa." Instead of these snot-nosed little whining candy asses being grateful for the people paying for their educations K-12, they whine about how it's unfair? Dear Gate-crasher, Get your ass the hell out of here." And children suffer for the actions of their parents all the time. Many people shouldn't have children. The part that really bites my ass is that illegals get a break that US citizens don't. What the hell is up with that? And they want to get a better education, to qualify for better paying jobs, which they can't legally have!!!

God Bless the People of Arizona

"Today, higher education is becoming harder for middle-class families to afford," said Sen. Dean Martin, the measure's sponsor. "We can't blame all of that on illegal immigration, but it definitely plays a role."

The other three immigration-related measures, Propositions 100, 102 and 103, seek to deny bail to suspects in serious crimes who have entered the U.S. illegally, prohibit illegal immigrants from being awarded punitive damages in civil cases and make English the state's official language.

Proposition 300 would affect the largest number of immigrants immediately. It would block undocumented immigrants from accessing a number of state-subsidized programs, including adult education and child care. Those likely to be hardest hit by the measure are students in Arizona's public universities and community colleges, and those taking state-sponsored adult-education classes.

My earlier quoting didn't "take" so I redid it.
