Farmer's Branch, Texas Gets on the Kick-Ass Program

@ 03:57 PM (18 months, 8 days ago)

Woo-Hoo! Another town lays the smack down on illegals. Of course the bleeding heart snot brigade has their panties in a twist. I love the BS about" Oh, you're forcing landlords to be immigration agents." Nonsense. It calls for renters to get a permit. And the local government checks whether or not they get that permit.

Forbes

Leaders of this Dallas suburb unanimously approved tough new anti-immigration (Anti-immigration my ass. Anti-illegal alien) measures Monday evening, including one that makes English the official language.

In a series of 6-0 votes, the city council also approved fines for landlords that deal with illegal immigrants, and decided to allow local authorities to screen suspects in police custody to see whether they are in the country illegally.

With the votes, the city became the first municipality in Texas to enact such strong anti-immigrant laws. Such ordinances have troubled many people in the state, where many Latino families can trace their roots to the era before statehood.

  5. Damn right Jim. They should make huge vats of flan and export it in single portion containers.

  6. Consensus on Fox news this evening was that these laws won't pass the judicial smell test. Not that it'd be a surprise to see the courts smacking down the will of the people - after all, government is all about checks and balances. We write the checks and they balance the needs of my family against the needs of 12 million Mexican illegals...

  8. Same thing they are doing with gay marriage - reversing the will of the people is just what judges do these days.
