Drop Your Linen and Stop the Grinnin,' Here Comes the AMNESTY
I'm so pissed I don't even want to talk about it just yet.
Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Larry Craig (R-Idaho), Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.), Mel Martinez (R-Fla.), Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), and George Voinovich (R-Ohio) today introduced legislation to address the growing agriculture worker shortage.
The AgJOBS bill would establish a pilot earned adjustment program for agriculture workers, which would help to ease the severe worker shortage being experienced by frustrated farmers across the country.
Statement Of Sen. Patrick Leahy
On The Introduction Of A Bill To Provide
For Comprehensive Immigration Reform
Senate Floor
110th Congress
January 4, 2007
As the new Congress begins, we have a tremendous opportunity before us to enact fair, comprehensive immigration reform. It is time for bipartisan action. Accordingly, I join with Senators from both sides of the aisle to call for Comprehensive Immigration Reform and will work to enact it. We need to put aside the mean-spiritedness and short-sighted policies driven by fear and recognize the dignity of those whose work contributes to reinvigorating America. Consistent with our heritage as a nation of immigrants we need to bring people out of the shadows.
This is total bullshit and everybody knows it. Labor shortage or CHEAP labor shortage? And note, Leahy and others want more hi-tech visas. Something just popped into my little evil mind: Did the "ONE TIME" amnesty of 1986 solve anything? And, now, they're trying to sell us the same bullshit? Oh, but it's not an amnesty. It's an "earned adjustment" program, etc. MY ASS.
