The Flake and Gutierrez Amnesty Plan Unveiled

@ 12:23 AM (13 months, 29 days ago)

I posted about how Pelosi and others were pushing in the Senate for another form of amnesty under the Ag Jobs heading. Everybody knew that some traitorous slime in the House would propose something. McCain caught so much hell from potential voters that he recently distanced himself from Kennedy and their proposed legislation.

Anyway, I'll just cover a couple of points and wait to see what others, who are much wiser about this, have to say later. But the arrogance of some politicians is amazing. They believe the American people are total idiots that will fall for this bullshit, again.

Lying Scum

Gutierrez and Flake call it the "Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy Act," or STRIVE. Even the name shows the two are bending over backward to convince their peers that the bill is not an amnesty and that it will help bail out segments of the economy that rely mostly on illegal immigrant workers. Not an amnesty..My Ass. They're bending over backwards to snow people.

"Our bill is about ending illegal immigration," Gutierrez said at a packed news conference. Yeah. Under this plan you just double or more the number of legal immigrants coming in every year. Legalize everybody then nobody is an illegal. Brilliant. Too many rapists? Jails can't hold them all? Simple solution: Make rape legal.

While the majority of Democrats are expected to support the kind of measure Gutierrez is proposing, he acknowledged the bill cannot succeed without Republican votes.

Some Democrats, particularly some freshmen elected from the nation's heartland, campaigned against illegal immigration.

My hope is that there are enough democrats and republicans in the House with a spine that this won't have a chance. BUT, they probably figured you had to start somewhere. So ask for the moon and maybe you'll get some of what you wanted to begin with.

WHAT'S IN THE BILL

_BORDER SECURITY

Adds 11,600 border-patrol agents, 2,500 port of entry inspectors, 1,200 Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigators and 50 deputy U.S. Marshals.

Strengthens border controls, including vehicle barriers and enhanced surveillance technology.

Makes evading border-inspection personnel a crime.  Illegal entry is already a crime.

_INTERIOR SECURITY

Increases the number of agents enforcing immigration laws in the nation's interior and increases penalties for document fraud, smuggling and gang violence.  Meaningless if those agents are hamstrung by insufficient jail space, admin decisions, etc..

Reaffirms that local police have inherent authority to enforce criminal provisions of immigration law in the normal course of their duty.  Again, meaningless without it being a mandatory policy. The Sanctuary towns won't go for it unless forced to by cutting off federal funding to them. Even then they'd probably lie.

_EMPLOYER ENFORCEMENT

Creates an electronic system for employers to verify that the people they hire are legally entitled to work in the United States.

Would replace the Basic Pilot Program with a fraud-proof card. No such thing as "fraud proof" but a tougher card to counterfeit is a good thing.

Prohibits the creation of a national identification card. Humm? There's already the Real ID ACT which is in the works and many are opposing it.

Increases penalties for hiring illegal immigrants. YAWN. There are many penalties already in place. Again, meaningless without enforcement.

_NEW WORKER PROGRAM

Would allow 400,000 foreign workers and their families into the U.S. each year to take jobs Americans don't want. Excuse me? Jobs Americans don't want? LIE. You mean jobs that won't pay a wage high enough to attract legal workers. And that 400,000 figure? Ahhh, but this bill allows this 400,000 to bring their families along. So how many is that?

Applicants would have to have a job lined up, have a clean criminal record and undergo a medical exam. Yeah, right.

After five years of work, they could apply for conditional permanent residency and eventual citizenship. Somewhere, as always, they want to call this a "Guest Worker Program." As we all know, guests don't stay permanently. Under this plan they do.

Any community with an unemployment rate greater than 9 percent would be ineligible. According to whom? Why not about a zero unemployment rate?

The 400,000 would be adjusted based on market needs. And who determines that? Hey, ya'll. I need me some more $6 an hour pickers. Get cracking.

A new H-2C visa would be valid for three years and renewable for another three.

Application fee, $500; permanent-status fee, $500.

_LEGALIZATION PLAN

Would first allow illegal-immigrant workers and their families who have lived and worked in the United States since June 1 to get conditional-immigrant status by paying a $500 fine and passing a criminal-background check.

Status valid for six years.

Permanent status and citizenship: Within six years, immigrants would have to leave United States, go to Mexico or Canada, and re-enter legally. An immigrant would have to also pay a $1,500 fine, have a good work record, learn English and civics, pay back taxes and pass a criminal-background check. This is a total joke. Step across the border then re-enter. How silly is that? Pay back taxes? Who's going to try and figure that one out when we have thousands/ millions of illegals who have used the same number as others for many different jobs, in many different places for many years?

_TRIGGER

The new worker program and legalization plan wouldn't take effect without border-security and employment-verification measures in place. Yawn. And we're going to take whose word for that?

Mindless, stupid, lying bullshit. The thrust of their proposal is to simply allow everybody to come and stay under the cloak of security. It's a total sellout of the American worker and those that came legally. It's shameless pandering to business that wants a steady supply of CHEAP labor and who don't give a damn about this country.

Overall, this is a screw up monumentally larger than the "One Time" amnesty of 1986.

  1. I wonder how the American Indians feel about us white men giving our country back to one tribe, the Aztecs, who never lived inside the borders of the United States! I’d feel doubly injured. And what’s this B.S. we hear from illegals about “we didn’t cross the borders, the borders crossed us?” Aztlan (AZTecLANd) is a total myth, created to justify invading a territory they have no more right to than the Europeans did. The Aztecs were never found north of central Mexico, let alone in the SouthWest U.S., until the Spaniards brought some of them along when the missions were being established. You hear La Raza types saying that the whole North American continent belongs to Hispanics, and that “European” whites should all go back to Europe. Funny, last time I checked SPAIN was a part of Europe, and so Mexicans with their Spanish blood are just as much Europeans as I am, being a mixture of English, French, Scottish, and Iroquois Indian! This is all just as stupid as if the Navajos were to invent a name like Navlan to refer to some portion of Mexico, then start mass migrating there and calling for all the Mexican Spanish/Aztec halfbreeds to go back to Spain.
