18 More Illegals going South
They made it from California to Georgia with a paper tag in a plastic wrapper and nobody caught them until they got here???
BUFORD - Police on Thursday arrested 18 suspected illegal Mexican immigrants from California, thought to be orange pickers heading to northern Georgia.
The jam-packed van carrying the immigrants on Interstate 85 looked suspicious.
A Gwinnett County police officer noticed a white Ford van heading north near Buford Drive early Thursday morning with a paper car tag in some sort of plastic bag, spokesman Cpl. Darren Moloney, said Friday. The van also had heavily tinted windows, and the officer could not see inside, Moloney said.
This is one of the larger arrests of alleged illegal immigrants in Gwinnett.
"I don't believe this department has detained this many illegal immigrants before," Moloney said.
Well, it's not exactly like there's a shortage of illegals in Gwinnett. So, ahh, how about making it into a new game for the local police? Let's call it "Round Up." And whoever catches the most illegals gets a prize.
