If this bank was simply assisting LEGAL immigrants then I couldn't care less. But it's my understanding that the only people that really need a Matricula ID from Mexico's consulates are ILLEGALS as legal immigrants have other forms of ID. Therefore, this bank is aiding and abetting illegal aliens by helping them manage their monies, loans, whatever. But, like we all know, illegal immigration, and banks, are about the money. To hell with the country, there's a dollar to be made. Also, and I made try to find a source, Mexico's bank's don't even accept the Matricula ID. Go figure.
First National....First Rate Jerks
First National Bank in collaboration with the local Consulate of Mexico office in Brownsville will partner to offer Mexican nationals more convenience in finding a financial institution.
Information on First National Bank’s products and services will be available at the Consulate and on selected days, First National Bank representatives will be on hand at the Consulate to provide information on all aspects of banking.
First National Bank will continue to accept the Matricula Consular Card as form of identification to establish a relationship with the bank.
I should have mentioned Wells Fargo and Bank of America, too. Anyway, a little follow-up
"It is very revealing that Mexican banks have enough sense to refuse these cards but American banks don't," said ALIPAC's William Gheen. "We applaud this video, which shows us proof that Mexican banks are refusing to accept matricula cards issued by the Mexican government to illegals in our country.
"We hope many American banks will take note and stop accepting the matriculas," said Gheen, who encourages people to visit the BankofAmericaBoycott site and join in the boycott.
