Mexico's President Whines to the Heavens

@ 02:05 AM (10 months, 22 days ago)

Screw this jerk. Our problem with illegal immigration is bigger than Mexico or our southern border, but that's the biggest part of the problem. And despite all the "Blame America First" crowd trying to pin Mexico's economic woes on the US, they only have themselves to blame. They've got a helluva lot more resources than say, Japan, so if they can't get their crap together they can go pound sand.

Cry me a Rio Grande

MEXICO CITY — President Felipe Calderon of Mexico today blasted the U.S. Senate's rejection of the immigration bill, calling the senators' action "a grave error" that avoided a "sensible, rational and legal solution." What's "sensible" about rewarding people who show a contempt of our nation?

"It's a mistake," Calderon said. "First, because it's a problem that's not being confronted. And with this evasive action the U.S. Senate is making it worse. "Evasive?" Ah, I think some states and the fed are starting to actually enforce the laws. I don't consider that evasive. Though I do consider the efforts anemic.

"Secondly, by closing the door on legal immigration, the only thing the Senate does is open the door to illegal immigration." "Closing the door?" We allow more legal immigration than the rest of the world combined and if that's not enough to make Mexico happy I really don't care.

Calderon, appearing at a joint news conference with the visiting President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, told reporters he continues to oppose a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border which was approved by Congress last year. Some 370 miles of fencing will be constructed by 2008, about 153 miles inside Texas. Another 400 miles would be built later. Ehh, I have mixed feelings about a "wall." But I would like to see some physical barriers but, mainly, I'd like to see some seriously stepped up manpower and resources along the border.

More than a tenth of Mexico's 103 million people now live in the United States, many of them illegally. As the United States has beefed up border security, people from Mexico and Central America have opted for new — and often perilous — ways of making it across. No surprise that so many Mexican nationals are living here. Would you want to live in that cesspool? And if they die trying to sneak in here, Darwinism at work.
