We all know the drill. The guy that released this information will be attacked as a racist, insensitive, etc.. and they'll claim his facts are all wrong. In fairness, this is just one side of the coin as it doesn't guestimate how much illegals pay in taxes. BUT I've heard this "They're good for the economy" argument until I'm ready to barf. Let me put it to those, that try to make that argument, this way: If they're SOOOO great for the economy then the best thing we can do for the economies of their native countries is to ship their butts back.

Cash sent back to Mexico from their nationals living here is their second largest source of revenue, oil revenue being number one. My take: a "fence" has been proven to be VERY effective in some areas. No, a fence won't keep all illegals out but it can cut down the numbers. But whether it's a fence or a string, without adequate manpower, it's a waste. ALSO, what would be more effective than a fence or fixing Mexico, is cutting off the incentives that compel people to crash our borders. Primarily, that means cutting off the jobs. Fox just spews the typical tripe. It's almost like "Gee, we're doing you a favor by breaking your laws and you should be happy to get us."

The answer is not importing more cheap labor, the anser is going up on wages which none of these "farmers" wants to do. This gets sooo funny, in a sad sort of way. Illegals and their supporters have a screaming fit everytime there's any enforcement of our immigration laws. I really believe much of it has to do with the fact that they've had a free ride for much too long. It's like having a stretch of highway with a 55MPH speed limit that's never enforced. DENVER—A federal judge Friday threw out a lawsuit by the state alleging the government failed to do enough to stop illegal immigration.
A day after federal attorneys asked that the lawsuit be dismissed, U.S. District Judge Lewis Babcock did so, agreeing that the matter wasn't up to the courts.
Babcock also said the state didn't have legal standing to sue, meaning it couldn't show injury as a result of federal actions or that any injury suffered was connected to federal actions. Bullshit.

People get tired of all the problems with packs of illegals hanging out on corners, peeing and dumping in the bushes, leaving trash, etc.. BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Federal border patrol agents have arrested eleven Mexican nationals suspected of working illegally in Montana.
Agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection were patrolling in Billings Thursday afternoon. They stopped to investigate after seeing a group of 7 Hispanic men getting out of a minivan with out-of-state plates.
Spokesman Alex Harrington said the men identified themselves as Mexican nationals and said they were members of a construction crew working on a new medical facility.
Shortly thereafter, a second group of men pulled into the parking lot. After interviewing the four, agents determined they were in the country illegally, too. They said they were working on a painting crew.

I think I posted something about this already so consider this part of an ongoing issue. The union feels some of the "workers" and illegals were mistreated. Cry me a river. Look, if I'm at a plant and the cops seal the doors and start going person by person looking for a robber or any other wanted types, or happen onto a few other wanted people and it inconveinences me to some degree, so what? I won't be crying about it.

I couldn't agree more. I haven't researched this very much. I know that the part of the 14th Amendment dealing with birthright citizenship was specifically directed at the sons and daughters of slaves. It was to insure that there was no question as to their rights as citizens. But this has been abused for years by gate-crashers. It may take another Constitutional amendment to repeal this tragedy and I'm not sure if the American people have enough of a grasp of the issue, as of yet, but the trend is growing.

Why is it that the typical solution from democrats (politicians) is ALWAYS surrender? I know that's not fair. I know there were 15 democrat senators that took a stand for this nation, not their party of appeasement. I know that plenty of republicans were pushing like hell for an amnesty but they were outgunned by other republicans and joined by the 15 vertibrate democrats. Huge split with the republican politicians and a lesser split with the democrats but, regardless of party or any other issue, I will NOT vote for any candidate that is weak on illegal immigration. And, sadly, that leaves out ALL the democrats. i would like to have seen one, just one, that showed some spine on the issue.

First they did, then they didn't, and, now, they will? Police chiefs are hired or fired at the whim of city councils. So, if you have a bunch of snot-nosed, hand-wringing candy-asses on the council then they wil try to dictate police policy. How seriously LAPD enforces the law, who knows? My only problem with vehicle impoundment laws is if they're being used to build up city funds. In short, are the fines so high that it equates to an unfair and excessive tax? Anyway, we'll probably hear how serious LAPD is about enforcement before too long. If we hear the pro-illegal lobby crying to the heavens then we'll know they're doing their jobs.

This nauseates me. What a bunch of ankle-grabbing, appeasing, weasels. Beyond that, as we all know, aiding and abetting illegals is against the law. As far as I'm concerned, any financial institute or government entity that resorts to this type of thing should be arrested.

This is kind of funny in a way. Some time back there was a big stink with the Sierra Club over illegals and the destruction of thousands of acres of desert. There are films on youtube, maybe I'll look one up, that give just the faintest idea of the massive impact illegals have had on the environment. Seems some environmental types didn't want to touch that one, too political, but others have no problem denouncing the fence to help keep illegal out. I'm still of the opinion that enforcing our laws against employers and getting rid of other rewards for illegals will have a much larger impact than a wall. But a wall/fence/tighter border security is needed no matter what else we do.

I've heard some say that reconquistas are a fantasy, they're not. These are people that believe that the US et al, stole parts of this country from Mexico and they want it back. Gee, they don't seem to have done so well with their country so now they want this one. You can see them at events holding signs that say things like "All Europeans out" or "Aztlan." The SPLC and Tamar Jacoby are totally WRONG by trying to be so dismissive. It's like trying to say there are no neo-Nazis or Klan types running around. How many people have the reconquista mindset, I don't know. I tend to think/hope not very many. But to try and contend they don't exist, ahhh, nope.

This is another reason I support some serious protection of our borders. I know, we all know, that this country can't keep everyone out that wants to sneak in. But this country can, and should, do a helluva lot better job than what we've seen so far. Even if you're the most bleeding-heart pro-amnesty type you'd probably see a need to keep some people out of this country. Specifically, criminals that have already been deported. I've mentioned before how it saddens me to see men such as McCain slip into the furry abyss of weaseldom. This guy started doing a little dance when he was getting his ass chewed off over the immigration issue while he was stumping. He tried to distance himself from the McCain/Kennedy bill but then he jumped right in the middle of the last attempted amnesty. At one event, when getting attacked by the citizens over the issue, he went so far as saying Americans wouldn't pick lettuce even for $50 an hour. That went over like a lead balloon. And, now, he goes back to talking tough about securing the border but still pushes a Guest worker program even though we have many.

I don't quite get this. My understanding is that any illegal, unless already under a deportation order, can ask for a hearing and plead whatever excuse for why he/she shouldn't be deported. It's also my understanding that if they simply agree to a voluntary deportation it won't count against them as much as going thru the legal process and being tossed anyway. So, why the stalling tactic?

As they said they would, the AFL-CIO filed suit and a judge halted the letters going out. Mind numbing. But, as I believed, this government has no intention of seriously enforcing our immigration laws. But we'll see how this plays out. To me, it's totally ridiculous the excuses the anti-letter groups are trying to sell. Let me share something from a personal experience: Former girlfriends son applied at a Target store. Seems they may have been on the Basic Pilot program because they told him there was a problem with his SSN. So, he had to go to a SSA office and get it straightened out. BIG DEAL. Turns out, according to the impression he got, some illegal was using his number. If I found out that my SSN wasn't being credited for my work I'd want to know about that and get it fixed, pronto.
