Former Mexican President prefers we fix Mexico than build a fence
Cash sent back to Mexico from their nationals living here is their second largest source of revenue, oil revenue being number one. My take: a "fence" has been proven to be VERY effective in some areas. No, a fence won't keep all illegals out but it can cut down the numbers. But whether it's a fence or a string, without adequate manpower, it's a waste. ALSO, what would be more effective than a fence or fixing Mexico, is cutting off the incentives that compel people to crash our borders. Primarily, that means cutting off the jobs. Fox just spews the typical tripe. It's almost like "Gee, we're doing you a favor by breaking your laws and you should be happy to get us."
Screw you, Fox. Fix your own damned country
The United States would be better off contributing to the development of Mexico's economy than building a fence between the two countries, former Mexican President Vicente Fox said Friday.
Fox said he's also concerned about the status of the millions of undocumented immigrants now in the United States. Legalizing those residents will benefit both countries and improve "the security of the United States," he said.
The importance of family reunification must be addressed in any plan, he said.
