Can't families lay the fallen heroes to rest without these assholes wanting to disrupt the service by promoting their agenda. I halfway expect the ACLU or such to appeal this verdict.

I'm not a party kind of guy, especially on this issue. From what I've seen, illegal immigration isn't a party issue with the people of this country, either. Democrats poll a little softer than republicans but not much. However, with the politicians it's a little different. Most opposition to illegal aliens comes from republican politicians and democratic politicians are usually doing their appeasing best. But as I've noted, not always.

The short take: A furniture store owner turned to the sheriff for help with "day laborers", assumed to be illegals, hanging out on his property. So, Sheriff Joe started whatever enforcement measures to help clean the crap out. Then, of course, the pro-illegals started whining to the heavens and decided to protest at the store. There's a great comment from Arpaio on the video. And a woman on the video starts whining about the Sheriff, saying he should go after the real criminals, he has many unserved warrants, or such. Humm, wonder how many of those warrants are for illegals that have skipped back over the border?

I'm so glad somebody of note is on Spitzer's ass. Spitzer has gone into damage control mode and is trying to save face. He's incapable of admitting what is so obvious: he's wrong and he knows it. Now, he's proposing a license for illegals if they have a valid passport. Many illegals don't have a valid anything. Some consulates, in an effort to aid and abet their nationals, will, no doubt, be issuing the hell out of passports to anybody that shows up and asks for one. To me, the funniest part is hearing illegals and their supporters whining because Spitzer has modified his original position.

Again, I ask: How many innocent people have to suffer and or die before this country wakes up and starts enforcing the immigration laws? Many of these deaths and other crimes by illegals ARE preventable if law enforcement would just do their job and check the status of people that are arrested. That won't catch every illegal but it will be an incentive for them to leave AND it can result in criminal illegal aliens NOT being released back to the streets. And spare me the "Oh, but most of them are good, honest, hard-working people trying to have a better life" crap. If they were so honest they wouldn't be here.

40 in jail. It beats a kick in the pants.
OMAHA, Neb. — Law enforcement officials arrested 40 people and seized drugs, cash and weapons, seriously denting Omaha operations of a street gang with ties to Central America, officials with several agencies said Tuesday.
The arrests were part of an ongoing investigation of the gang Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13.
Fifteen of those arrested were linked directly to the gang and charged with various gun, drug and immigration violations, First Assistant U.S. Attorney William Mickle said. Ten were charged federally and five faced state charges.
While searching for gang members, authorities arrested 25 people and charged them only with being in the United States illegally, said Bill Wallrapp, resident agent-in-charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Geez, it's mind-numbing.
Deport Spitzer
Governor Spitzer said he has no intention of retreating from his contentious effort to grant driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, insisting that the new policy would be more widely embraced if New Yorkers had a better understanding of its benefits. MY ASS. This is the same line of bullshit the pro-amnesty politicians were spewing in the Senate: "If people just had a better understanding then they wouldn't be opposed." These are such lying a-holes.
In an interview with The New York Sun, Mr. Spitzer said he is satisfied with the way his administration rolled out the license policy, saying his staff had prepared for the hostile response to his plan from lawmakers, county officials, and the majority of New Yorkers. I bet his staff had no clue about the HUGE outcry of opposition. They probably thought they could just slip it by with little fanfare. Totally out of touch with reality.
On the national scene, the issue has become a rallying cry for anti-immigration activists, who accuse the governor of encouraging law-breakers and jeopardizing public safety. Among the most persistent critics has been a CNN news anchor, Lou Dobbs, who in a Wednesday evening broadcast called Mr. Spitzer a "spoiled, rich kid brat" for carrying out the policy in the face of heavy public disapproval. Give 'em hell, Lou!!!
"I'm not sure that the number accurately reflects the true public sentiment if it were presented in questions that reflected the underlying facts," Mr. Spitzer told the Sun. "Because when I explain to people that it would require a valid foreign passport and other documentation that could be verified and validated and we will have fewer accidents, lower insurance premiums, and safer streets, people say they support it." TOTALLY out of touch with REALITY.
"I stand and govern based upon principle, not poll numbers. Humility has nothing to do with caving to poll numbers," he said. "Principle is what I've stood for, for nine years, and that's why I was elected by the largest margin by any governor in history." And he will lose re-election by the largest margin in history. His "principle" is to completely ignore the will of the people.

This should be happening in every city and town in this nation. For those that no comprende: Day laborers, many of which are illegal aliens, start hanging out in certain locations looking for people to hire them. After a period of time, this site becomes better known to illegals and those looking for cheap temp workers, legal or not. Because most loitering laws have been tossed there's not much the local police can do if they're on public property. Some congregate on private property. Some that own this property end up hiring private security or off-duty police to keep them away. Some towns, in an utter show of cowardice, authorize or assist in building day labor centers. Day labor centers are a means to sweep the dirt under the carpet.

This is a pretty good read. It's hard to find anything "unbiased" because, oftentimes, bias is in the eye of the beholder. The article doesn't mention every state and their new laws aimed at illegals, Georgia for example, but does give some perspective on a rising tide of anti-illegal sentiment in many places, and a more "liberal" attitude in other places.
