Sorry, Rudy. I can't vote for you.

I like Rudy. I don't have any real reason not to like Rudy. BUT I can't support him for President because of his stance on illegal immigration. At least he's somewhat tuned in and has some backbone on the issue. Which is light years ahead of the democrat contenders. My understanding, Hillary wouldn't even answer the question about giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens during last night's debate.

Rudy, it's everybody's problem

Responsibility for stopping illegal immigration belongs to the federal government and not to cities, states or businesses, Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday.

Giuliani told small-business owners he would not punish them for unwittingly hiring illegal immigrants. I wouldn't either, but I'd jail and fine the hell out of those that did knowing hire illegals.

Federal officials are "trying to put the responsibility for this on employers, on city government, on state government," the former New York mayor said during a conference call arranged by the National Federation of Independent Businesses. The federal government can't take on the problem alone. It's up to every law enforcement agency in this country to enforce those laws.

"The simple fact is, nobody but the federal government can stop people from coming into this country illegally, and the federal government does a very bad job of that," Giuliani said. Sorry, right and wrong. It's going to take everybody to stop it, but the fed HAS done a pathetic job of enforcing the laws.

He said no other presidential candidate will solve the problem. Well, it's not going to be the President that solves the problem. It's going to be a President and a Congress that has some spine.

"If you elect a Democrat, they're just going to open the borders, and more illegals are going to come in," he said. Yep, he's completely correct.
