Sadly, I don't think this is uncommon at all. I've read some accounts of women that load up on birth control pills before trying to come north because they assume they will be raped. America's Most Wanted aired a segment that detailed the story of an illegal, young female, who was made all sorts of promises by a woman in Mexico. "Sure, no problem. I can get you into the US and have a good paying job waiting for you." You can guess the rest.
A man who allegedly transported illegal immigrants across the country has been charged with raping one of them, a girl he had promised to deliver to her family in the Boston area, police said.
The girl, whose age was not released because she is under 16, fled a Milford hotel room after the rape Saturday morning and was found lost and wandering at a gas station, police said Sunday.
Francisco P. Pascual, 25, of the Baltimore suburb of Gwynn Oak, Md., was charged with sexual assault, kidnapping, risk of injury to a minor, unlawful restraint and assault, police said. Pascual, who was also listed in police records as Francisco Pascual Francisco, was being held on $1 million bond.
