Tolleson, Arizona. 37 illegals caught hiding behind peppers in semi
Nothing really new here, is there?
Nearly 40 undocumented immigrants were found hiding behind several feet of bell peppers in a semi-tractor early Sunday.
A Tolleson resident was walking by the truck on the 9600 block of West Harrison Street shortly before midnight and told police he saw people getting out of the truck and into a dark-colored SUV.
When police arrived they initially found nine undocumented immigrants in the truck. But once they got to the front of the truck, they discovered 26 more individuals. Two more were discovered in an abandoned trailer by a nearby baseball field.
And four people successfully ran away before police could catch them, said Sgt. Rudy Mendoza, Tolleson Police spokesperson. It is unknown if any of the four were coyotes.
"We didn't find any coyotes," he said. "We haven't even been able to find the owner of the truck." Just out of curiousity, was this one of those Mexican trucks allowed on US roads? Ahhh, just wondering about something else. So, there were about 40 or more illegals in the truck with the peppers. How long were they in the truck? I hope they had somewhere to "go" other than in the truck. Think I just lost my taste for bell peppers.
