Ex-Border Patrol officer returned to face charges
This sickens me. It's ALWAYS the money. As far as I'm concerned, he should be tried for treason. And, if convicted, an appropriate sentence imposed. Something like spending the next ten years polishing the shoes and boots of Border Patrol officers as he's in chains, and wearing a shirt that says, "TRAITOR."
To serve honorably for years, I'll guess "honorably", and then to stab your fellow officers in the back for a few bucks? Beyond shameful.
An El Paso Border Patrol agent who was arrested in 2006 on bribery charges and who fled to Mexico while out of jail on bond was returned to El Paso on Wednesday, officials of the U.S. Marshals Service said.
Arturo Arzate Jr., 49, who was a Border Patrol agent for 20 years, is accused of waving loads of drugs through the checkpoint on Highway 62/180 east of El Paso, federal court documents state. He was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and bribery.
