Ga. legislators going in the right direction on illegals.

Good news. Every little step forward is a step in the right direction.  What part of "Get out" do you not understand? Oh, I should mention that there is a difference in a car being impounded or seized.

Take their cars and deport them.

Police would have the power to seize cars from illegal immigrants stopped in a traffic accident or cited for driving violations under a plan approved Thursday by the Georgia House.

The proposal faced fierce criticism from Democrats who feared the measure could run afoul of state and federal law, but it earned support from Republicans who argued it would protect citizens from illegals who "thumb their nose at the state law." I'd have to look it up but I'm fairly sure Tennessee has a similar law as does California.

The Senate passed two measures this month that would outlaw so-called sanctuary cities -- where officials are banned from reporting illegal immigrants -- and allow prosecutors to level a felony charge against people driving without a valid driver's license.

A separate bid to make English the state's official language is still pending in the House. The constitutional amendment fell shy of the 120 House votes it needed this week, but sponsors could revive it.

Ok, I looked up some of it. Decatur, Alabama impounds car driven by unlicensed drivers. I don't think that's all too unusual. A cop isn't supposed to let an unlicensed driver go with a ticket, unless he's verified that there was a license issued to the driver but the driver simply forgor it. AND LAPD impounds cars even though the pro-illegal lobby was screaming about it. Too bad.
