Racist. State Senator in Nebraska targets governor with snot remark.
I get so tired of this, it's all they ever do. They don't argue the facts, the merits, the logic. etc.. All they ever do is yell "Racist, nativist extremist, xenophobe," etc.. and run off. I want you to pay attention to the snotty little remark this guy makes.
Gov. Dave Heineman angrily criticized state lawmakers for killing a bill he says would help keep illegal immigrants from getting state benefits.
State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha said the governor is "riding a crest of racism."
"I am extraordinarily disappointed with the Judiciary Committee for not advancing LB963," Heineman said. "The Judiciary Committee should listen to the citizens of Nebraska and not Sen. Ernie Chambers."
"I don't think illegal immigrants ought to receive in-state tuition at the University of Nebraska," Heineman said. "This is not about racism. This is not about discrimination. This is about fairness and equality."
Bruning added his support.
"Let's say I get offended, as the governor does, when somebody calls me a racist. I think Sen. Chambers has pulled the racist card out one too many times," Bruning said.
"I had said the governor and the attorney general are riding a crest of racism. If they say I called them racists, well, maybe a guilty conscience needs no accuser," Chambers said. Oh, Dude. Would I have had something to say to you over that.
I could make a lot of commentary on this story but I won't, not just yet. Maybe tomorrow. And my comments would extend past the typical playbook rhetoric of the pro-illegal bunch.
