Wisconsin milkers whining about enforcement

@ 05:25 PM (4 months, 3 days ago)

Sorry, go up on your wages. You didn't always have a large pool of cheap illegal labor but you survived. Now, you've become addicted to it and don't want anything to diminish the supply. Gee, too bad slavery isn't still legal. Get over it.

Cry in your Rice Krispies

Agents from the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE, have been stepping up the number of arrests of undocumented immigrants in Wisconsin recently. It’s a trend that’s beginning to worry some Wisconsin dairy farmers who employ immigrant milkers from Mexico.

A new study of employment patterns on 600 farms in four Wisconsin counties found that 90 percent of the milkers on those farms were Mexican immigrants. It’s a trend that ballooned between 1998 and 2000, soon after the North American Free Trade Act went into affect.

Servais says there are increasing rumors about immigration raids on dairy farms. He plans to meet with other farmers to organize a letter-writing campaign to Congress calling for immigration reform that will protect their workers.

Immigration officials say the agency isn’t targeting specific industries. They say the goal of a new Milwaukee ICE team is to clean up a large backlog of immigration fugitives.

These farmers don't give a damn if an employee is a rapist, child molester, or what as long as they're good workers for cheap. Hell no, they don't want to do background checks.
