Michigan. Three execs sentenced for illegal labor and cheating system
HOO-RAY!!!! MORE!!! Please give us, MORE. Oh, gee. You're really not supposed to celebrate someone else's misfortune. Somebody get me a beer and a party hat.
Hope you get a good bunk buddy.
Three executives of Rosenbaum-Cunningham International Inc., a national janitorial contracting company, were sentenced to prison terms and ordered to pay millions of dollars in restitution for defrauding the federal government. The company’s practice of paying cash wages to workers deprived the government of about $18.6 million in employment taxes, according to the indictment against the three executives. The government’s investigation into the contractor, which is based in West Palm Beach, Fla., led to the arrests of more than 200 illegal immigrants across the country in February 2007. Richard M. Rosenbaum, the company’s president, was sentenced on Monday to 60 months in prison and ordered to pay $16.9 million in restitution. Edward S. Cunningham, its vice president, received 51 months in prison and was ordered to pay $16.3 million. And Christina A. Flocken, its controller, was sentenced to 30 months and ordered to pay $15.7 million.
They corrected the original story to make note of the fact that one guy, the President of the company, got TEN YEARS. Breaks my heart.
The Associated Press erroneously reported the sentence for Richard M. Rosenbaum, the president of Rosenbaum-Cunningham International Inc. Rosenbaum was sentenced to two consecutive 60-month terms for a total of 10 years in prison, according to the U.S. attorney's office, not one 60-month term.
