Utah asks for twice as many ICE officers.
That's fine BUT Utah is sending some very mixed messages. They just approved (waiting for the governor to sign it?) a bill that targets illegals, good. But it didn't go far enough. All they needed to do was copy Arizona but they didn't have the stones for that. Utah's laws go into effect in July 2009. By that time our traitorous Congress will, no doubt, be trying to pass another amnesty or series of mini amnesties. Also, Utah didn't kill "driving permits" for illegals so what message does that send?
Utah's congressional delegation is asking the Department of Homeland Security to almost double its illegal immigration enforcement presence in the state.
The group is requesting an additional 22 Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to aid in the work that 25 officers are now doing. They say the added presence is needed because the flow of illegal aliens through the state has increased substantially in recent years.
