This is a hoot. Basically, the plantation owners and pro-illegals are getting together for a PR campaign to snow the people. They should rename their group, "A Better Way to Bullshit Oklahoma." And I LOVE the rhetoric of "unintended consequences." I've covered some of that before.

There are NO unintended consequences I've seen. All has been very predictable including their bullshit. Would you like to know how they're going to con the public? "The economy sky is falling.. splitting up families..driving them deeper into the shadows...businesses are closing...there's less revenue..these measures are costing too much money...we have to have a guest worker program or Oklahoma businesses will go broke, or go elsewhere,  and citizens will be out of work..." It's going to be the same old shit. Oh, forgot about the "morality" argument and how schools will lose money because of dropping enrollment. YAWN.

Scam Game

A top official with Chesapeake Energy Corp. on Thursday confirmed that an effort is being organized to address the “unintended consequences” of a controversial state immigration law passed last session.

Tom Price, Chesapeake Energy senior vice president of corporate development, said the group A Better Way Oklahoma is forming plans and refining strategies for a “potential public education initiative” regarding House Bill 1804.

Price declined a request for an interview but issued a statement regarding A Better Way Oklahoma.

“There has been a lot of discussion from a number of circles in Oklahoma about the unintended social, economic and cultural consequences of House Bill 1804,” Price said in the statement.

What we are now seeing is the coalescing of religious, cultural, educational, business concerns and others across this state behind the shared goal of constructively and collaboratively working with the Legislature and our governor to address these unintended consequences,” Price said.

“At this point, we are formulating our plans and refining our strategies for a potential public education initiative.”
