Courtney Lockhart. Coed's ALLEGED killer caught
Most people are aware of the Auburn coed, Lauren Burk, who was found shot, nude, and near death on the side of the road. She died shortly afterwards. A SUSPECT was arrested after a chase in Phenix City, Alabama. Typically, the parents of the accused are interviewed and ALWAYS give one of those bullshit "Oh, no. Not my darling little child. He'd NEVER do such a thing. They've got the wrong person. He's totally innocent...."
I remember seeing a video of a cop struggling with a guy on the side of the road. The perp shot at the cop as they struggled. The cop finally got the upper hand and shot the asshole, dead. The father later said something like, "I don't care what the video shows, they didn't have to kill my son." Ahhh, Bullshit.
In the murder of Lauren Burk the mother of the accused didn't pull the typical shit of, "Oh, not my darling little boy. He'd never..." I saw a video of her last night on TV and could see she was very sincere in her apologies to the Burk family for what her son did, though she didn't directly assign blame to him it was more than obvious. She made a point of saying that she had talked to her son by phone while he's in jail and that he didn't admit to anything, but there didn't seem to be much doubt that she knew he did it by the way she spoke. I give her credit for that. Every murdering, raping, child molesting son-of-a-bitch has a mother. And that's got to be a big bitter pill for a mother to swallow.
The mother of Courtney Larrell Lockhart, the Alabama man charged in the slaying of Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk, of Marietta, says she didn't think her son could commit such a crime.
"I never thought Courtney would do this, never thought," an emotional Catherine Williams, of Smiths, Ala., told television station WRBL. "But I am sorry for that family, I'm sorry. I've got nothing else to say. I'm just sorry for the loss of that family."
