I don't know all the numbers. Originally, there were supposed to be 6,000. I think it may have hit that level for a short time. They aren't there to arrest illegals, they're there to do back-up work. Sadly, their numbers have been cut way down and I think the last of them are scheduled out before long.

I thought the initial 500 million out of 1.4 billion was a done deal. Seems Congress still has to approve it. I have very mixed feelings about this. Yes, we are, in large part, the reason they have such a huge problem with drug cartels, etc.. BUT we have to pay for their drug war? Why don't they take all the money they confiscate to pay for helicopters and equipment? In this country, like in my county, if the Sheriff's department makes a large cash seizure they get to keep some/most of it. Trust me, the local deputies all drive nice new cars. They make plenty of seizures from the interstate transportation of drugs and money.

Just wanted to take a step back for a moment and see the big picture. As we know, apprehensions are down along the southern border. They dropped 20% last year and another 17% so far this year. Some credit that to our slowing economy, some credit it to more and more states taking a harder stand against illegals, and some credit tougher enforcement along the border. As most agree, despite how the jobs are lost, jobs are the number one incentive. No jobs, fewer reasons to come.

MY ASS. Yeah, some might but think about this: You and your family live in some shithole. You sneak into this country, find a job at 8 or 10 dollars an hour, which is 8 or 10 times more than you made in your shithole country. Here, there are nice paved streets, street lights, hospitals, schools, good police and fire departments, etc.. Would you want to go back? More likely you'd want your family to join you, here.

What we're witnessing around the country is that when one locality passes anti-illegal laws, and the illegals leave to adjacent areas, those adjacent areas start talking about the problem. Some pass their own laws targeting illegals. In this instance, illegals are leaving one county and moving to adjacent ones and those counties are trying not to enact new laws.

I do see some of his takes and parts of his shows via computer. I do know this, the pro-illegals hate his guts. Most of the hatred seems to be that he focuses part of his shows on the insanity around illegal immigration. So sad, too bad. the truth hurts and the pro-illegals hate truth. That's why they dance all around the word "amnesty" and prefer "undocumented" instead of "illegal."

I'm of the opinion that the single WORST thing the pro-illegals ever did was have those massive protests of years past. I've read that many in the pro-illegal movement feel the same. Seeing hundreds of thousands of pro-illegals and illegal aliens marching, as they waved foreign flags, and DEMANDED their "rights" was a little much for the American people to swallow. Personally, I think it pissed a lot of people off. At later marches the word went out to bring more American flags and lay off with the foreign flags but the later demonstrations didn't gain a lot of support. I don't think the next demonstrations will get much support, either. Perhaps with a couple of exceptions. Maybe in a few cities like L.A. Maybe. I've been wrong lots of times but I'm not seeing it.

This is a good thing. I've posted about some area of the border where smugglers aren't even federally prosecuted for hauling up to 500 pounds of marijuana. Commony, illegal Mexicans are simply IDed and sent back. OTMs may be held before being deported to their home countries. Some areas started prosecuting illegals but were targeting those that had priors. Those areas have seen/are seeing a reduction in crosseros. So, initially, the prosecutions strain the sustem because they're trying to prosecute more people BUT, as word spreads, there will be fewer illegals to prosecute.

I've heard this excuse a few too many times. "Illegal immigration is a federal matter and we're not getting involved." The reality is that our federal government has done a non-job on illegal immigration for a very long time. That's why there's a growing list of states and localities that are stepping up to the plate. I just made mention of these types of arguments. There's not always a cause and effect relationship between facts. In the following article the writer is trying to make the case that because Oklahoma passed tough laws against illegals, and illegals are leaving, that's why unemployment is down. Maybe, maybe not. There are other factors to consider. What if more companies opened? What if more natives left? Could be many reasons for this. Obviously, I'd like to see a cause and effect relationship between illegals leaving and unemployment dropping but its' going to take more than this. It would make sense BUT.

No surprise with that, happens all the time. An illegal gets arrested for whatever crime, nobody checks their immigration status or ICE drops the ball, the criminal is let loose to commit other crimes up to the point where someone dies. THEN people go, "What the hell?" That's why some areas are mandating screening of arrestees. It took the well publicized brutal murders of 3 young people before New Jersey got on the program.

The drill goes something like this: The fed isn't paying for illegals that are being held in local custody for local crimes. They only pay if the illegal is being held awaiting ICE and, even then, the fed isn't vey good at compensating the locals. So, the local communities are having to eat a lot of the costs. South Carolina is looking at 3 regional holding facilities for illegals to get them on the fed's back and off of theirs. Whatever it takes, whatever works. But my slant is that the fed should be absorbing the costs associated with holding, housing and feeding illegals. It should not fall on the state unless they are in state custody for a state crime. And, even then, the fed should comp them something. If the fed had caught the slimeballs then they wouldn't be running around committing more local crimes.

This is great news and a huge slap in the face to Chief Bratton and other political candy asses. The part of Special Order 40 that riles many is that the police can't do jack about an illegal, say one that the officer knows was deported, unless there's another crime involved AND that goes for those stopped for other infractions. Cop pulls a green Buick over. The passengers are all known illegal gang-bangers that have been previously arrested. The officer can't do jack. He/she isn't even supposed to notify ICE. It's only AFTER arrests are made for certain offenses do the police make note that the arrestee is an illegal then it's on the detectives going over the reports to teletype ICE.

This is sickening but they're not the only ones. This is the mentality of our government and many pro-illegals. A scum businessman trying to save money by hiring illegals doesn't give a damn about their background. They don't screen them to weed out rapists, murderers, child molesters, etc.. because they don't care. All they care about is getting good, CHEAP, labor. My 2 cents: If an employer knowingly hires an illegal, and that illegal commits a crime, then the employer should be charged as an accomplice to that crime.

And another one bites the dust. The bad part, from some other states that have recently passed laws that require proof of legal residency, is that these laws don't kick in until 2009 or later and/or doesn't affect those that already have licenses. Hence, somebody that has a license that doesn't expire for 8 years is safe until then. The ONLY people that need matricula IDs recognized are illegal aliens. Why are you violating federal law by aiding and abetting criminals? " I received no response.

As is typical, it took the cold-blooded murder of three young people and public outrage over it before the state took action. Seems there is some confusion over what the state is asking law enforcement to do, so the Attorney General is seeking to clear things up. As we know, the pro-illegals don't want to see ANY enforcement or screening.

Sickening and total crap. IF Arpaio's people have violated anyone's "rights" then they have a cause of action. They can file suit and there are plenty of pro-illegal groups praying for a good case they can rally behind in the hopes of calling off some of the enforcement. But instead of seeing multiple lawsuits we see a group of pro-illegal candy-asses whining to the fed for an investigation.

This is sickening. There's little we can do to stop a citizen from driving drunk. There's little we can do to prevent an illegal from driving drunk, EXCEPT keeping that illegal out of this country AND deporting them when they are discovered. Not said in this article is whether or not the scumbag had prior arrests. That happens all too often. An illegal is arrested time after time, pays the fine, and is released back on the streets because nobody checked their immigration status.

NAFTA may have affected some Mexican jobs, I'm not about to defend it, but the FACT is that we had millions of illegals in this country BEFORE NAFTA, which came into being in 1994 and the Ag parts weren't fully implimented until 1998. NAFTA was phased in over many years, some provisions are still being implimented. I think the last of them have to do with Mexican trucks running on our roads.

Another of my pet peeves. I don't think most people are aware of this and, if so, it wouldn't have gone on for so long. Very simply, immigrants, both legally and illegally in this country, are subject to deportion. Legal immigrants can violate whatever laws and their visas are revoked. Hence, some immigrant might enter this country, kill multiple people, molest however many children, serve a sentence and , then, be released back on our streets because their home coutries refuse to take them.

The U.S. ambassador to Mexico warned on Friday of an "alarming" surge in violence in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and said he could heighten a travel alert for U.S. citizens traveling there.
Tony Garza said he was preparing an updated travel advisory after visiting Ciudad Juarez this week to talk to local officials about a jump in murders in the city to nearly 200 this year, as well as kidnappings and robberies. The city borders El Paso, Texas.

This woman, and every other appeaser like her, makes me sick. I understand that politicians feel a need to cater to their constituents but, you know what? If my constituents were all pro-criminals I wouldn't support them. Take a stand for the country. STOP rewarding, aiding and abetting CRIMINALS.

I get so tired of this issue being seen as one of race or ethnicity. It's a perception versus reality thing. Any law or act targeting illegals is perceived as anti-Hispanic. It's bullshit.

Woo-Hoo. I bet several pro-illegal groups are wetting in their pants. One bill makes it a felony to be caught driving without a license 4 times within 5 years. That's for people that NEVER had a license issued to them, not just some guy that's forgetful with his wallet.Way too soft but it beats a tooth ache.

This is TOTAL BULLSHIT unless they're leaving out a whole lot of information. First, I think the guy's a little nuts for going to a migrant camp by himself. I applaud him being a concerned and involved citizen but you've ALWAYS got to CYA. Secondly, no single guy is going to take on a bunch of other men unless he has to, in fear of his life. Or he's Chuck Norris with a bad attitude. I have no doubt that it's NOT the "migrants" behind any lawsuit but, instead, they're being supported by a pro-criminal group to take this action.

Guys, you need to knock this crap off. You're the last hope that nation has for any kind of law enforcement and justice. Most/many of the local cops are crooked as hell. Doesn't help if the army resorts to this kind of stuff.

Most of the time, when some dipshit mayor or council declares itself a "Sanctuary City" it's just a political statement. However, if they take it a step farther and have a "Don't ask/Don't tell" policy for the police and jailers then it puts the citizens of their community and this whole nation at risk. They'd rather release an illegal that should be deported and put everyone at risk. IDIOTS!!!

GROAN. "They're violating the rights of immigrants." My ass. As we know, EVERYTIME there's ANY enforcement, where illegals go to jail, the pro-criminals come out of their sewers and start whining. "Racially profiling...denied them their rights...unconstitutional...mean-spirited...breaking-up families..." etc.. All of you know the drill.

Too funny. A group of citizens put cameras in place and have volunteers using them to report illegals to the Border Patrol. The article didn't say how much they spent but I'll bet it 's a whole lot less than the government AND their system is up and running.

He's doing saturation police enforcement in Guadcalupe, this time. Good. This isn't anything unheard of before now. Yeah, people are screaming but much of it seems a perception vs. reality thing. He's perceived as conducting sweeps looking for illegals but, in reality, his people are in an area in force looking for law breakers. If some of those law breakers happen to be illegals I won't be whining about it.

I just saw this and am shocked. For those that aren't aware, there are some that beleive the SW United States was stolen from Mexico and they have the right to take it back. More than one reconquista, such as Delored Huerta, advocates high birthrates of Mexican nationals, or former nationals, living here to accomplish this goal.

Recently, the US and Vietnam came to an agreement on returning their illegals that came here. Vietnam isn't the only country that's been very slow or noncompliant with seeing their nationals returned. I have some sympathy for illegals being returned to communist countries but not a helluva lot. Somehow we need to send a message that we can't take in the world and everybody with a sob story. As we know, getting the paperwork done is one thing, finding them is another.
