Arpaio gives Guadalupe Mayor Rebecca Jiminez, HELL
I LOVE this. I'm dying laughing. EB and others that live there or know more about the particulars please feel free to correct me but my take:
Arpaio and his group started doing saturation enforcement in some areas of Maricopa County. This caused some pro-illegal local politicians to cry to the heavens. "Racial profiling, waaaaa." What race is an expired tag or broken tail light? Others have spewed the stale crap about "Why don't you go after the real criminals?" Well, this type of police tactic does go after real criminals, as shown in the following article. So, the mayor of Guadalupe was one of those whining. Seems some politicians only want certain laws enforced and want a "hands off" policy towards illegals. Tough cookies.
Arpaio had told Guadalupe's mayor something like, "Hey, you not happy with us you're free to get your own police, just pay us what you owe."
He came out with this little statement more recently.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio sent a letter on Friday to Guadalupe town leaders, telling them they have 180 days to either renew or end their contract with his office.
Arpaio said if the town doesn't answer, he will pull his deputies from the community.
Many town residents took to the streets to oppose Arpaio's recent crime saturation sweep that netted nine suspected illegal immigrants and 38 others on warrant arrests and drug violations.
In his letter addressed to Guadalupe Mayor Rebecca Jimenez, Arpaio wrote, "Statements made by you and the Phoenix mayor reflect a disturbing discrimination and selective enforcement agenda that certain laws passed by the Legislature and voted upon by the citizens of Maricopa County should not be enforced."
As a result, Arapio wrote, "the sheriff's office has decided to invoke the termination clause of its law enforcement agreement with the Town of Guadalupe."
Jimenez said she was disappointed Arpaio issued his statement, regarding the cancellation, to the media immediately after delivering the letter to town officials. Of course she's miffed, because it made her look like the whining, alibi hunting, twit that she is.
"This is yet another attempt by Sheriff Arpaio to garner more media attention for himself and his office," she said. Yeah, so what? Maybe, when more illegals see he's not backing down, they'll take the hint and LEAVE.
Jimenez added, "It is also unfortunate that when people speak up against Sheriff Arpaio, that he uses vindictive and retaliatory tactics against them." Yeah, ain't it terrible when people tell the truth and call you on your crap?
Seriously, like other politicians, what can she do? She can't back Arpaio because so many of the voters, so it seems, are pro-illegals. So, she shoots off her big anti-Arpaio mouth and he says, "Screw you. If you don't like it we'll leave." Oops. So, her only options are gettting law enforcement from another source or making-up with Arpaio.
I know little about Gaudalupe. Some people have said it's a small barrio of gang-bangers, illegals and others. NOT a nice, sleepy, little, mid-American town. I don't know. And I don't know how much they spend to hire Maricopa County's deputies but they can always hire their own police department. Hell, plenty of illegals would love the job.

And, you're correct. Maybe when the Wetbacks see that Sheriff Joe is not backing down, they'll leave? I hope to Hell so, them leaving by the thousands would please me to no end? and, I'd like to ask Mayor Jiminez, "Would you like some Cheese with your Whine"?
