As predicted, remittances to Mexico drop this year.
For many years, money sent to Mexico from their nationals living here has risen in the double digits. Last year the rise nearly stopped. This year, so far, it's starting to fall. I expect Calderon and others to have a screaming fit.
Mexican remittances have fallen 2.9 percent this year due to the U.S. economic downturn, the central bank said Wednesday.
Mexicans living abroad sent home US$5.3 billion (euro3.4 billion) from January to March compared to US$5.5 billion (euro3.5 billion) during the first three months of 2007.

I haven't heard much but nobody expected the turnout of the 2006 rallies. So far, that prediction looks very accurate. I know Chicago got a few thousand, I expect L.A. will have a fairly large turnout but in other places, like Atlanta, I expect to see nearly nothing.
Here's a live video link to Chicago.
I heard enough from the
Chicago rally to puke. All the standard playbook garbage.
