38,000 fugitive illegals in Houston
The total number of fugitive illegals, that's illegals that have already been ordered out but remain, was about 600,000. ICE upped the numebr of teams looking for these people and have, according to them, made some progress. Last I recall, they caught and deported about 30,000 last year. I don't think that was strickly ICE but, also, jails where an absconder was arrested, identified as an illegall, reported to ICE and they went, "Hey, we've been looking for that jerk." If anyone thinks that ICE alone can target, arrest, and deport all these people you're living in La-La Land. Criminals are everyone's concern and EVERY jail in this country should be screening for these people.
The hunt in Houston began a few hours before sunrise on Tuesday.
Half an hour into their operation, Immigration Customs Enforcement agents catch a bad guy.
ICE officers say the man they arrested had committed several violent crimes and assaulted his former wife.
A woman, who agents identified as his current wife, walked away when 11 News tried to ask her about her husband’s citizenship status.
ICE officers say there are an estimated 38,000 known illegal immigrants with criminal histories in Houston.
