Feinstein and Craig trying to sneak thru mini-amnesty
I've predicted this many times. They know shooting for a "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" package will set the American people OFF. So, they're going to try for some mini-amnesties, stealth amnesties.
I haven't seen much information on this, yet, so I'll refer you to what little I have.
My friends at NumbersUSA have sent out a warning that Sen. Dianne Feinstein may attempt to sneak an illegal alien amnesty measure into the Iraq supplemental war spending bill. (Yes, the same bill the White House is trying to stuff the Merida Initiative into, too.)
Update: The Feinstein amendment–co-sponsored with the cretinous GOP Sen. Larry Craig– passed the Senate Appropriations Cmte, 17-12.
Sen. Byrd, who opposed the shamnesty bill last spring, spoke in opposition to the amendment. You know what they say about broken clocks. Good for him.
About time to pick up those phones and send emails, AGAIN.
Feinstein sits on the Senate Appropriations Committee, which on Thursday voted 17-to-12 to add her farm worker measure to a multibillion-dollar bill to fund military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Feinstein's measure would create a new, temporary class of agricultural workers to meet shortages plaguing growers nationwide, and would streamline an existing farmworker visa program.
The ultimate fate of the measure is uncertain. The House voted on different versions of the underlying bill on Thursday and the Senate is expected to take it up next week.
This is much worse than it would appear. My understanding is that it provides for "temp worker" cards to illegals already here and allow their families in to join them. Time to upgrade the H-2A, ok. Time to sanctify gate-crashers and allow their families in, hell no.

Basically, where it stands now, as best I can tell, is for people to cal and write their senators. BUT there's some other crap coming thru the House so calling and writing your Congressperson may, also, be a good thing.
I'll try ot put up a link for some of that in a while.
