It's a little hard to grasp on the first reading but then becomes very clear. Cobb county is evading the law by claiming that their business licenses only apply to a small group of businesses, hence, only those applicants need to be screened per Georgia law. In fact, Cobb issues an "Occupational tax certicate" to any others seeking to do business in Cobb county. Humm, is that certificate required? Bet it is, and that means that it should also fall under the intent of Georgia's laws to deny benefits to illegal aliens.

We're seeing this all over the country. It sounds as thought their proposed law is somewhat like Hazelton's. Hazelton lost that battle. I think the diffrerence may be that Fremont isn't proposing a penalty for the landlord. Don't know but something tells me it wouldn't stand a challenge. BUT it would certainly send the right message. In Hazelton and Farmers Branch the illegals got the hell out of town even before their laws passed.
