This anti-American, pro-amnesty jerk (Cedillo) wants to give illegal aliens licenses and tries to tout it as a safety issue. My ass. He's only interested in making life easier for gate crashers. We're down to just a few states that still give permits to gate crashers. New Mexico, Utah, Washington and Hawaii, as far as I'm aware. And I'm pretty sure Wahington is looking at getting rid of that piece of stupidity as well. Remember the total hell that was raised when former Gov. Spitzer in New York said he planned on giving licenses to illegals? A driver's license is a short step from sanctifying their presence in this country. We need to keep going forward, this would be a huge leap back.

Sadly, I think this is what Hazelton tried, and lost. Sounds fair enough to me. It doesn't put the monkey on the landlords, it puts it on the renters and city. Very simply, if you want to rent a place to live in Farmers Branch you are required to get a permit, no matter who you are. How is that "racist?" But,as said, I don't know if will survive a court challenge.

This is off my usual path but I ran into it and got misty. I, certainly, understand much of the opposition to the death penalty and I can easily agree with some of the arguments. My take is that the criteria needs to change. No more "Beyond a reasonable doubt." The criteria should be "Beyond all doubt" before a death penalty can be pronounced. And we certainly have any number of cold-blooded murderers that met that criteria.

I blogged about this ALLEGED SOB the other day. Long story short and if my ears didn't totally fail me, I'm almost certain the TV news said they let him loose on a signature bond. WHAT??!! He's alleged to have caused a serious accident where one victim is still in the hospital and they let him loose? Where the hell is ICE with a detainer? Didn't anybody give them a call? I want to know. Somebody dropped the ball on this one and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he vanished. He did turn himself in, which is suprising, after initially fleeing the crash scene.

The SFPD records, obtained by Judicial Watch pursuant to the
provisions of the California Public Records Act, identify Ramos,
"based on... numerous documented contacts" as being an active member
of the MS-13 street gang. The records, which document that he is not
a U.S. citizen, also show Ramos's previous March 30, 2008, arrest
related to weapons and gang charges. San Francisco prosecutors

This is kind of interesting and comes up now and then whether the battle is over gender, language, whatever. It doesn't specify so I'm assuming that the Catholic school is private. My understanding is that private schools have a lot more say than public schools in how they conduct themselves.There was a recent case about an all-girl school that decided to go coed. My understanding was that it was perfectly ok for them to have a gender biased admissions policy but they didn't get government money. My memory is not good but I think they opted to go coed for the bucks.

Gee, what a shocker. Like it never happens in this country. Another instance where the offender should have been reported and deported long before this offense but nobody wanted to get involved. Even now the story didn't say he'd been officially reported to ICE for them to place a detainer on him. Hence, even if he made bail he wouldn't be let loose.
WHY? How many more times?

This problem is all over the country. Very simply, illegal aliens start hanging out around building supply stores and other places looking for temp work. It creates many problems. Trash, people relieving themselves in the bushes, women getting bothered by grubby men, a negative impact on adjacent businesses, etc.. Most loitering laws have been struck down. Most police aren't ICE agents and even if empowered they need probable cause to even stop someone for questioning. Basically, it's not against the law to hang out on the corner.

These politicians would rather see innocent Americans slaughtered than take a stand against illegal aliens. They don't want any screening but can't stop the fed, only threaten their own police and deputies. These politicians are traitors to this nation. I have mixed feeling over the death penalty simply because of the cases where some guy's been in prison 25 years then is proven innocent. My take is that before a death penalty can be invoked they have to be proven guilty beyond all doubt. This guy certainly would've met that criteria.I seriously thought Bush might step in and give the guy a stay, if he had the power to do that, because of all the international ramifications. Screw the World Court.

Uhhh. I was thinking Bush might step in. As I recall, some dem congresspeople put forth a bill to enact/accept/whatever provisions of the Vienna convention. The Supreme Court had already shot the Vienna Convention down, in part, because it wasn't ratified/recognized as binding. So, now that these two congress-weasels have introduced a bill to adopt it the Supreme court was asked to stay the execution until congress could vote on it. Even then it would have to be retroactive. That might sink that appeal.Damnit.

I'm really curious how this plays out. This murdering scum only has hours to live, he has a date with a needle. Bush and others from the government have tried to get this guy, and others, a stay until they can be retried because of a little treaty known as the Vienna Convention. Basically, it says that foregn nationals should have access to their consulates if arrested in other countries. I don't know if this murdering scum was denied access or simply didn't know about it. Anyway, every court has shot that argument down and their governor made an interesting comment that went something like, "He got every right that any American citizen would receive in the same circumstances."

I'm not going into the whole story but will give a real short take. This piece of raping, murdering worm food was convicted. His case was appealed and appealed. Mexico asked the World Court to step in and stop the execution, so did Bush. Vienna Convention. The Supreme Court said, "Tough, he dies." I still think there's a chance Bush might give a last second stay of execution, assuming he can. Ehh, we'll see.

What do you do as a defense lawyer when you have no defense? Invent one!!! Yeah, from what little I now it might be slightly possible that her boy friend was in the van. I doubt it but let's concede that point for now. There is no way in hell that he switched seats with her. And when the rescue team members testify as to what it took to get her out from behind the wheel that won't even be a matter of remote possibility.
