350,000 illegals deported in 2008. It's a start.
Actually, combining that number with some estimates of illegals leaving on their own, and fewer trying to get here, means we may have, for the first time in forever, a situation where more are leaving than coming. I'd read a piece Pew put out saying there hasn't been an increase in the illegal alien population over the last year. Excellent. Maybe we're winning?
Good news. Keep it up.
Nationwide, deportations have also increased, with nearly 350,000 immigrants sent home through September 2008, compared with about 174,000 in the same period in 2004.
