Georgia passed some really good laws about screening people who try to get government benefits, including business licenses. Ask D.A. King and Cobb County about that one. Sadly, many localities have ignored the law or aren't even aware of it. So, the Senate decided that another law without penalties wasn't doing the trick. At least, now, they're threatening to take action against the offenders.

Not said in the first article, as is typical of much of our media, they'll say "Salvadoran," "Swedish national," whatver, but avoid whether or not the perp is another illegal. I understand how it doesn't matter in some ways but, if he had a previous record and wasnt reported and deported, it makes a huge diffence.

Just to make a few points. Many people believe that the USA is the only country that has issues with illegal aliens. WRONG! Though we may have the biggest problem because of the numbers there are many other countries dealing, or not dealing, with the issue.

I won't go into the details, we all know what a pain moving can be but we forget. NIGHTMARE. BUT I'm so happy to get back on the net and be close to everything. I'm only blocks away from just about every chain store and little eatery you can think of. My mail, PO Box, is still a problem and I have to get a few things to make this place more livable. I rented an apartment so I would be close to some of the houses I'm shopping for. Didn't want to drive an hour plus to house hunt. Have no idea how long I'll be here but my landlord was ok with a 3 month commitment and month to month after that. Most of my stuff is in storage.

This story totally blows my mind. WHY in the hell should the tax payers pick up the tab for his treatment? Bill Guatemala, then deport his ass after a long sentence. But whatever they do, deporting him makes the most sense. Let him go home to rape and molest children. Let them pay for his treatment. Let them deal with him, he's one of their own.

I would love to see more of these suits and, especially, a few that made it to trial. The only way some of these "Is not my job" jerks will get involved is after it costs them or more people needlessly die.

Yes, I'm thrilled but there are a number of things not said. First, an immigrant can be flagged for deportation whether legally here or not, depending on the crime and its disposition. Also, just because someone gets "flagged" doesn't mean it's automatic. AND these people still have to be run through the system, FIRST. But, as most know, I totally suppoft every jail in this country screening every person arrested and brought in as to their immigration status. I'm tired of seeing illegals arrested time after time and never reported or deported, up until the point where somebody dies. See my following post, happens all the time.

Sorry I haven't been posting but I'm still in the middle of a move back to Atlanta. My 22" LCD and wi-fi adapter came in today. No way I wanted to lug around a 20" CRT. I gave it away.
