Illegals make up large number of Federal criminals

@ 01:35 PM (7 months, 10 days ago)
This is from Pew and you'll have to read between the lines to see the real deal. Said it before and I'll say it again: I don't give a damn what country an illegal is from or their race, ethnicity, etc.. So much focus goes on Hispanic illegals simply because they make up the largest part of illegals, something like 83%. So, DUH, most of the articles and such will focus on them.

Americans of Hispanic descent are as good a bunch of American citizens as any damned body else. They have contributed and bled for this nation. I'm not going to bash tan Americans. However, I may have plenty to say about Mexico. Don't confuse the two. And, I might bash the French from time to time. Since Sarkozy was elected they're acting like they have pair and I'm glad.

Federal sentencing

Sharp growth in illegal immigration and increased enforcement of immigration laws have altered the ethnic composition of offenders sentenced in federal courts. In 2007, Latinos accounted for 40% of all sentenced federal offenders-more than triple their share (13%) of the total U.S. adult population. The share of all sentenced offenders who were Latino in 2007 was up from 24% in 1991, according to an analysis of data from the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC) by the Pew Hispanic Center, a project of the Pew Research Center. Moreover, by 2007, immigration offenses represented nearly one-quarter (24%) of all federal convictions, up from just 7% in 1991. Among those sentenced for immigration offenses in 2007, 80% were Hispanic.

This heightened focus on immigration enforcement has also changed the citizenship profile of federal offenders. In 2007, Latinos without U.S. citizenship represented 29% of all federal offenders. Among all Latino offenders, some 72% were not U.S. citizens, up from 61% in 1991. By contrast, a much smaller share of white offenders (8%) and black offenders (6%) who were sentenced in federal courts in 2007 were not U.S. citizens.

Ok, weed thru that to get a clue. They danced more than a bit.

Ok, a few more facts. I see people talking out of their underwear all the time. Sometimes they don't know any better, sometimes they're simply  lying.

FACTS

  • In fiscal year 2007, ICE secured more than $30 million in criminal fines, restitutions, and civil judgments in worksite enforcement cases. We arrested 863 people in criminal cases and made more than 4,000 administrative arrests. That is a tenfold increase over just 5 years before.
  • The number of criminal and administrative arrests has steadily increased over the past few years. Those arrested criminally include a variety of persons–corporate officers, employers, managers, contractors and facilitators. In criminal cases, ICE often pursues charges of harboring illegal aliens, money laundering and/or knowingly hiring illegal aliens. Harboring illegal aliens is a felony with a potential 10-year prison sentence. Money laundering is a felony with a potential 20-year prison sentence.
  • ICE has found these criminal sanctions to be a far greater deterrent to illegal employment schemes than administrative fines.
  • These arrests also include illegal aliens charged with criminal violations. Aliens have been charged with possession or sale of fraudulent documents, identity theft, Social Security fraud or re-entry after deportation.

WSE Arrests

Fiscal Year 2008 accomplishments

  • ICE made more than 1,100 criminal arrests tied to worksite enforcement investigations.
  • Of the individuals criminally arrested, 135 are owners, managers, supervisors or human resources employees facing charges including harboring or knowingly hiring illegal aliens.  The remaining workers criminally arrested are facing charges including aggravated identity theft and Social Security fraud.
  • ICE has also made more than 5,100 administrative arrests for immigration violations during worksite enforcement operations.
So, the next time you hear the pro-illegal whiners, politicians or the media talking about "massive raids" keep this in mind. UNDER 5,000 worksite arrests in their FY 2007. UNDER 7,000 in 2008. AND only about 135 managers, owners etc... got charged. Pathetically weak enforcement. But it does have a good bang for the buck.

  1. Do you know that 1 out of 53 people in Louisiana is in jail? If you add in those on probation and parole it is 1 out of 26 people.
