Of course, I loathe those that sneak into this country and commit more crimes but, no matter, if you're going to be a weasel and knowingly hire illegals you should pay them the minimum wage if nothing else. If these allegations are true I hope the carwash owners are prosecuted and fined all to hell, with whatever amount of money going to those they cheated. Then I want the illegals deported and the cheaters in jail.

As said many times, the pro-illegals oppose every iota of enforcement and they will resort to any deception to further their aims. They screamed to the heavens about Frederick County, Maryland deputies getting on the 287 (g) program. And as I said then

Blog

CASA of Maryland, the state's largest immigrant advocacy group, held a news conference yesterday at which it released a report estimating the policy could cost the county $3.2 million a year. Opponents called for an end to the program, which is the result of an agreement signed Feb. 6 between the Frederick County Sheriff's Department and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Sure I'd believe their figures. Ahh, I wonder if they figured in the costs of illegals?

And today this comes out

Jenkins took issue with all those numbers.

Casa de Maryland arrived at $161,000 in training by determining the average weekly salary of a deputy at the jail and on patrol, multiplying it by the number of deputies who trained in the 287G program, and multiplying that by the number of weeks they were in training.

Jenkins responded that the officers who trained in the program were not paid extra. ‘‘We would be paying them anyway,” he said.

Casa de Maryland determined annual staffing of $2,091,913 by multiplying the average salary of a full-time deputy on patrol by 10 (the number that trained); multiplying the average salary of a full-time deputy at the jail by 16 (the number that trained); and adding those two together.

Jenkins said that is not fair. Deputies in the program will still perform their regular duties; checking immigration status is an additional responsibility. ‘‘We have not hired any additional staff, and we don’t plan on hiring additional staff,” he said.

Casa de Maryland determined it would cost Frederick County $856,386 to jail illegal immigrants using costs from Prince William County, Va.

Jenkins said using costs from Prince William County is not fair or accurate, in part because costs vary from county to county and inmate to inmate.

Jenkins also took issue with Casa de Maryland’s claims that the Latino inmate population has increased dramatically over the last three years.

As of Wednesday, 460 inmates are being held at the detention center, 106 of whom are Hispanic.

However, 51 of those 106 were not arrested in Frederick County; they are being held through a separate partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

‘‘They’re arguments just don’t fly,” he said. ‘‘We have people closely monitoring the program. ICE is closely monitoring the program every day. ... We don’t arrest people because of their race. I can’t help it if they break the law.”

Representatives from Casa de Maryland could not be reached for comment on Jenkins’s reaction to the report by The Gazette deadline Wednesday.

Casa de Maryland also recommended that Jenkins put a halt to the 287G program, a request he has no intention of honoring. ‘‘We’re going to keep going,” he said.

I love this. As we see all the time, ANY enforcement of our immigration laws is met with howls to the heavens. Illegals think they should be untouchable and the laws don't apply to them. On top of that sick mindset, we have any number of weak-kneed politicians like Mayor Gordon who is wetting his pants over Arpaio's "sweeps."

Very simply, they don't want Arpaio to enforce any immigration laws and all the pro-illegals do is whine about racial profiling. It's bullshit but what else can they do? Also, there are some candy-asses afraid that the illegals and their supporters will resort to violence because they're so upset to se the laws enforced.

Anyway, this should open a few eyes. Get 'em, Joe.

Critics have railed against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for concentrating his "crime-suppression efforts" in neighborhoods with a high percentage of Hispanic and Latino residents.

So this week, he took the operation to Fountain Hills, where Arpaio lives and few Hispanics do.

But the results were the same.

In a two-day traffic-violation patrol, 16 of the 20 people arrested - or 80 percent of them - were suspected of being in the country illegally.

According to the 2000 census, fewer than 5 percent of the 20,000 residents were Hispanic.

Arpaio was surprised that 80 percent of those arrested were suspected illegal immigrants.

Still, the sheriff said everyone arrested was breaking the law.

"I'm a little surprised, quite frankly, when you take (Wednesday's) figures, seven out of 10, and (Tuesday's) figures, nine out of 10, that's double what we arrested in two days in Guadalupe," Arpaio said. "I didn't realize we would get that many illegals in Fountain Hills."

Sheriff's officials attributed the discrepancy to early morning construction traffic in the area.

Deputies also arrested three U.S. citizens for driving with suspended licenses, including one who had a warrant for her arrest.

Those apprehensions make the operation a success, said sheriff's Sgt. Brett Palmer, who commanded Wednesday's effort.

Traffic stops are one of the most efficient means of clearing warrants and ferreting out drivers who have suspended licenses, he said, and if the efforts catch people in the country illegally, it doesn't mean deputies are targeting members of a certain race.

I've posted a lot of bits about Arpaio. I have no doubt that some of you, especially those that live there, know a helluva lot more than I ever will but, from an outsider looking in, it looks like the pro-illegals are some seriously lying, deceitful, cowardly weasels.

They act like he's going wild in the streets targeting Hispanics and that's been shown to be a total lie. But they keep repeating the lie. I've made this observation before: If your position is so sound and right then you wouldn't need to lie and deceive. So, when I see people lying like hell about an issue that tells me they have no sound base and are inventing arguments. In short: Dirtbags.

I've never felt any need to lie and deceive over this issue but that's all I ever hear from the pro-illegal side.

Hey, Sheriff Joe. Tell them to go to hell.

Arpaio, who has been active in arresting illegal immigrants, came under fire from Wilcox and State Rep. Steve Gallardo, D-Phoenix, who said the sheriff's recent ventures in Phoenix and Guadalupe amount to racial profiling. Within an hour after their comments at a news conference, Arpaio announced he had begun a crime suppression patrol in Fountain Hills. "Racial profiling." Gee, how many times have I heard that one? Ahh, like EVERYTIME there's ANY mention of enforcement?

Meanwhile, Gallardo asked of Arpaio's patrols, ``At what point does this come to where we have violence in the streets of Phoenix because of his tactics?" If the pro-illegals want to resort to violence as a protest to the enforcement of our immigration laws I'd consider that an extremely stupid thing to do. As I've stated many times: LEFTISTS never met a white flag they didn't like and they're answer to every problem is surrender.

Gallardo said the sheriff is using immigration as a political stunt and ``is spending his precious resources on sweeps that for the most part are unconstitutional, they violate the civil rights of many." Really? Well, then file suit. PROVE IT.

Gallardo said he has a message for Arpaio: ``Stop causing havoc within the streets of Phoenix. Stop causing havoic within Maricopa County. Do your job. We support the mayor. The mayor's 100 percent accurate."

Gordon recently asked the federal government to investigate Arpaio's patrols.

Wilcox said the sheriff is carrying out illegal raids and the Hispanic community is united like never before to stop it.

``It is nothing more than racial profiling of American citizens of Mexican descent," Wilcox said.

She said Hispanics will fight the recall of Gordon ``in various ways, by fund-raising, by helping out any anti-recall group, grass-roots organizing and, more importantly, recruiting young people to take a leadership role in our grass-roots effort." Again, sad that the issue of illegal immigration has been hijacked by the pro-illegals into an issue of ethnicity. There was a recall effort for Arpaio that got nowhere. I don't know how far they'll get with the Gordon recall but I'll bet it has better legs.

FACTS from earlier articles including today.

A total of seven traffic stops and fourteen contacts were made throughout a seven-hour patrol period.
This resulted in ten arrests, nine of them being of undocumented immigrants, and three felony warrants cleared.

Many town residents took to the streets to oppose Arpaio's recent crime saturation sweep that netted nine suspected illegal immigrants and 38 others on warrant arrests and drug violations.

During the 30 hours of operation, Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Phoenix and Guadalupe crime suppression programs netted more than 150 arrests, including 73 illegal immigrants.

Eighteen fugitives were apprehended on a variety of warrant charges, including drug possession and domestic violence, MCSO said. Nearly 30 warrants belonging to several Valley law enforcement agencies were cleared.

I keep screaming about this and am happy as hell everytime I see another police/sheriff department having their people trained to screen for illegals or having ICE do screening at their jails. Notice the standard playbook response from the pro-illegals everytime there's any mention of enforcing immigration laws. "RACIAL PROFILING!!! SPLITTING-UP FAMILIES. WAAAAAAA" These mindless morons don't want to see ANY enforcement.

Frederick County sheriff's deputies have become the first Maryland law enforcement officers to check the immigration status of people they arrest, a move authorities say is a necessary tool for policing, but one that has sparked an outcry from advocates who say the policy is costly and encourages ethnic profiling.

County Commissioner Charles A. Jenkins said later that he doubted the veracity of CASA's figures and supports the sheriff's efforts. He said the county is reimbursed by the federal government for detaining immigrants.

Rosibel David blames the policy for tearing apart her family and creating fear for immigrants throughout Frederick County. Last Monday, sheriff's deputies stopped and detained the man whom her 5-year-old calls his father, Alejandro Rocha, on an immigration violation. He was a passenger in a car that had been reported stolen, David said. The family lost its main breadwinner, was evicted and forced to move in with friends, relying on their kindness and financial support, David said.

David said when her son sees a police cruiser he cries to his mother, "Is that the one who took my dad?" Oh, boo-hoo. A dirtbag illegal gets discovered driving around with his criminal pals in a stolen car and his wife wants to whine about it?

This is expected. As the noose draws tighter the illegals are scrambling for a means to avoid detection so they can continue with their law-breaking lives. No doubt, this isn't only a problem in Houston. Bogus ID mills are busted all over the country. A couple of the stories mentioned in the article are events that I've blogged about in the past but one needs special mention.

Put them under the jail as traitors to this nation.

Illegal immigrants fearful of being caught in stepped-up workplace raids are fueling a growing market in Houston for phony immigration and work documents.

The result, experts say, is a glut of false, altered and counterfeit documents that are easily obtained at Houston-area flea markets, businesses and clandestine printing shops set up in homes and apartments. The bogus documents include counterfeit Texas driver's licenses, fake Social Security and "green cards," and even worthless international driver's licenses sold here and in other states.

"You could put all of HPD full time on this thing, and I don't think we could put a dent in it," said Lt. Robert Sells, with the Texas Department of Public Safety's driver's license fraud unit.

The demand has been so strong that law enforcement officers in Texas have been bribed in recent years to sell the valuable documents, and several dozen have been caught.

The most significant recent case involved five immigrants from India and the Caribbean who were fooled by immigration agents posing as crooked law officers. Three were videotaped in a Houston government office last summer as they handed over $15,000 apiece for green cards, according to court records. Oh, those poor starving immigrants.

Houston federal prosecutors last month charged two local men and four others with securing fraudulent H-2B work visas for 80 unskilled workers recruited in India. The foreign workers, who paid between $20,000 to $80,000 each for the visas, arrived in Houston but were not required to work for the construction company that applied for their visas.

Instead, the Indian workers simply scattered across the country.

I have many problems with most studies whether they show a plus or a minus when it comes to illegals. I have no doubt that illegals are a net drain for generations BUT the problem I have with most studies is they only talk about one side of the coin. And even when they study both the costs and benefits there are so many aspects to consider that it begins to blur. Yes, I am concerned about the economic impact but also the societal impact with crowded schools, hospitals, courts, etc..

In an area north of Atlanta, the commissioners just passed a law that limits the number of cars at a private residence to 4. They do allow exceptions but one has to apply. They denied it was targeting "immigrants" but there is no doubt that's EXACTLY why it was enacted. Because illegals will overload a rental house with tenants and load up the yard with cars. They showed a couple of houses in the area and interviewed one guy with a heavy accent who said he was moving because of the law. See ya.'
